Computing Science Series - Update
Over the past few months, the Scottish Government has led a strategic series of meetings focused on the future of Computing Science in Scotland, with STACS and key partners including ADES, COSLA, Education Scotland, the EIS, headteacher groups and SQA contributing.
The series explored key themes such as recruitment and retention, professional learning, school infrastructure and subject attractiveness, building on earlier engagement STACS carried out with local authorities.
A huge thank you to the teachers who shared their experiences and insights. All contributions shared through STACS were anonymised and fed into national discussions. The Scottish Government is now preparing a report focused specifically on Computing Science, due to be published.
We would also like to recognise the valuable contributions of colleagues involved in the series, including Darren Brown, Callum Croughan, Jack Walker, and colleagues from SQA - Greg Reid and Robbie Paterson - alongside the many teachers and partners who contributed.
School infrastructure consultation
One of the themes raised during the meetings was school infrastructure, which links directly to a live Scottish Government consultation on school premises and digital infrastructure. This consultation is open until 24 March.

Stay involved
Although the formal meeting series has concluded, teacher voice remains vital. STACS will continue to gather concerns, reflect these in our annual reporting, and advocate on behalf of teachers delivering Computing Science across Scotland.
Further updates, opportunities to contribute, and information on pupil voice are shared through the STACS community at:
